Permission Based Email FAQs

1. What is Permission-Based Email?

Permission-Based Email means sending emails only to recipients who have given your organization direct and explicit permission to include them in your email broadcasts. The CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 established Permission-Based Email as the standard which all companies and organizations must meet if they do business or communicate by email. Fines for non-compliance can be severe.

2. Does Blue Grass Mailing Services sell email lists?

No. We are an electronic mail service provider that provides web-based software enabling organizations of all sizes to send permission-based emails to their clients, members and subscribers. We believe in, practice, and require our client members topractice only permission-based email marketing.

3. If we don't have our own list(s) of email subscribers and we can't purchase such lists from BlueGrass Mailing Services, how can we acquire email subscribers?

There are many ways of gathering email addresses and securing permission to broadcast. Some of the best methods are quite simple and low-tech. As a general rule, all your marketing venues and strategies should provide an opportunity to opt-in to your email program. We'll be happy to discuss specific acquisition ideas and language with you.

4. What kinds of email services does BlueGrass Mailing Services offer?

We can Create, Send and Track email on your behalf, or we can setup an Internet-based email account from which you can manage your own email program. Or, as with some of our clients, we can offer some kind of "hybrid" of these two options to best fit your needs.

5. Does BlueGrass Mailing Services have a policy about the frequency of broadcasts to the same email addresses?

Appropriate broadcast frequency depends on the nature of your business and your subscribers' expectancy level (what "seems right"- from the subscribers point of view). We encourage our members to respect their customers' time and attention by controlling the frequency of mailings to individual email addresses.

6. Would we have to install your software or any special hardware on our computer(s)?

No. Our software is Internet-based. Once we have established your email account, you can access it from any broad-band-connected PC or MAC using a compatible browser: PCs may use either Internet Explorer 6.0+ or Firefox 2.0+, and MACs must use Firefox 2.0+.

7. Is it a good idea to use email as our exclusive marketing and communication tool?

Permission-Based Email will never replace direct marketing, tele-marketing, etc., BUT done right, email can be an excellent complement to your other strategies.

IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING USING EMAIL BROADCASTING, WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO CALL US TO SCHEDULE A SOFTWARE DEMONSTRATION.
